Marble
Marble is a natural stone valued for its premium look. Outdoors, it can be problematic: porous, it absorbs moisture and stains (oil, wine, lemon juice) and cracks easily in frost. Regular water-repellent treatment limits the damage, without ever eliminating it completely.

Concrete
Concrete—raw, polished or cellular—is widely used for masonry structures: it is cast directly into the desired shape, making it possible to create bespoke volumes (worktops, facings, low walls) without using a prefabricated material.
Its weak point is porosity: without a renewed water-repellent treatment, it stains and can crack with freeze–thaw cycles. A concrete structure also almost always involves administrative procedures, which makes the project more complex.

Microcement
Microcement is a decorative cement-based coating, applied in a thin layer over an existing surface to create a smooth, mineral finish. Visually appealing, it remains sensitive to standing moisture and impacts: a simple crack in the substrate can damage the entire coating. It requires renewed protection to remain watertight outdoors.

Wood
