At Vivaplancha, we have chosen solid stainless steel, as used in professional kitchens, for its durability, hygiene and ease of maintenance.
With no coating, non-porous and heat-resistant, stainless steel does not absorb fats or odours. It maintains its performance over time and is easy to clean, without harsh products.
Caring for the cooking surface
Cleaning a stainless steel plancha is quick and straightforward.
After cooking, while the plate is still warm (but not scorching):
- Pour a little cold water or a mixture of water and white vinegar (50/50)
- Let it sit for 2 minutes and loosen any residue with the spatula.
- Push the residue into the grease tray
- Rinse with clean water then wipe with a cloth or microfibre for a perfect finish.
No detergent or abrasive product is needed.
30 seconds is all it takes to start again with a clean plate.
Easy maintenance, day after day and over time
Day to day, deglazing while the plate is hot keeps it clean and hygienic.
From time to time, depending on use, a suitable cleaner or a handled wire scourer can be used to restore the plate’s original appearance.
Stainless steel may develop a slight patina over time: this is normal and does not affect cooking or performance.
