Our Story

The origins of Vivaplancha

In 2006, at the age of 18, it all began in Barcelona.
During an internship, I discovered the griddle in tapas bars, where cooking is simple, close to the fire and the ingredients. The griddle immediately felt like the obvious choice. Unable to light a barbecue properly, I found a way of cooking that was instant, precise, and accessible. But above all, it was a new way to cook outdoors: flavourful vegetables, delicate fish, perfectly seared meats, with little fat and an incomparable taste.

Back in France, the experience met the reality of the market.
A griddle is put to the test: exposed to the outdoors, bad weather, heat, and repeated use. The limits soon became clear. One conviction stood out: the quality of cooking begins with the quality of the material.

We chose stainless steel, without compromise.

We select the same stainless steels used in the kitchens of top chefs: without coating, chosen for their heat retention, food safety, and resistance to intensive use. A decisive meeting with Michelin-starred chef Patrick Asfaux refined this standard and guided the technical choices for the first Vivaplancha griddles.

Gradually, the project became a collective effort.
We adapted the rigour of professional equipment to everyday life at home, designing 100% stainless steel griddles that are reliable, easy to maintain, fully repairable, and built to last. Sold directly, without intermediaries, they make these exceptional materials accessible.

Today, Vivaplancha is driven by a dedicated team and a clear vision:
to design solid stainless steel griddles, inspired by professional kitchens, made for outdoor use, and created to accompany the pleasure of cooking and sharing for many years.

National media recognition

Vivaplancha quickly caught the attention of national media.

In 2009, the brand was featured on the 1pm news on TF1, in a comparison between griddle and barbecue, showcasing a new way of cooking.

Later, France 2 dedicated a report in Envoyé Spécial to the rise of online shopping, while M6, in the programme Capital, focused on the griddle as a new trend with the topic: “Grilled food: the new griddle craze”.
